Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu is another well-known in the poker circle around the world. He was born in 1974 in Ontario, Canada. Like many other poker pros, Daniel found that he had a knack for gambling, pool hustling and poker when he was only sixteen years old. His knowledge of numbers and probability also helped him to understand these games. Because of this talent, he left high school and started to play poker full-time. He started playing with those that were twice his age and had been playing for much longer, and to everyone's surprise, he was winning almost all the time throughout his career. However, this was not quenching his competitive edge and he knew that there was much more money to be made elsewhere.

However, he discovered that his skills were nothing for those that reigned in Las Vegas, thus he returned to Ontario after losing the bulk majority of his money. He did this many times throughout his life until he realized what it was that made him lose in Las Vegas. And he made the corrections to his game after studying the game and learning from his mistakes. This paid off when he was named the best player by Foxwoods' World Poker Final best player in 1997. He won the Pot Limit Hold'Em event when he was twenty-three, being the youngest to do this and earned the nickname "Kid Poker".

In 2003, he added another win to his list with the World Series Poker bracelet. He won the S.H.O.E bracelet that just goes to show that he can win at anything that he sets his mind to. However, 2004 was the year that most people say was his year. He made it to eleven final tapes and won two WPT games. That year his earning were around $4 million. In fact, he is credited with being the most career earnings player that is out there today (more info available on this fan blog).

In 2005, Daniel wrote two books that were considered great informational books about poker. He also managed to play in 3 World Poker Tournament games as well. The following years, Daniel continued to play and to win, taking everything that he had learned from such a young age and applying it to his game. Overall, he did fairly well and performed brightly for the following years. He is a member of Team Pokerstars which he became a member of in 2007 and was what he considers one of the highlights of his career since he loves supporting and promoting poker games around the globe.

Many people have read the works that Daniel has written, as he has had a column that has appeared in around 35 newspapers across the nation, which is what one of his books is based on that was released in 2007. He is one of those players that others are happy to play against as they know that they are going to have a fair game that is full of competition and smart play.
